Workplace transport incidents are the second most common cause of fatalities after falls from height. Many of these fatalities could have been prevented by having a clear traffic management plan in place for the site. It should be ensured that every construction site shall be organised in such a way that pedestrians and vehicles can move safely and without risks to health.
We appreciate that segregation will not always be practical. On smaller sites it is likely to be impossible, however there are still control measures that can be adopted in order to minimise the risk of injury to the driver or pedestrian.
This section of the site will give you practical guidance on how to manage your transport issues. |
